Jehovahs Witnesses have a lot more mental problems and much higher suicide rate
by TastingFreedom injerry bergman, ph.d. .
the first american study.
the watchtower influence was often not positive, and there was no evidence that it had in the long run helped those who had emotional problems when they joined.

The new covenant is for the forgiveness of sins as clearly described in Mt. 26: 27–28
It is a blood covenant, to the death of both Signatories, the believer and Jesus. It is a permanent oath of irrevocable authenticity. Jesus mediates the problems that God and man have with one another, and with his own blood, comes up with a solution acceptable to both parties. Jesus substitutes his death penalty (that he didn’t deserve) for our death penalty (that we do deserve)
Jehovah’s Witnesses teach that they can get you into God’s Kingdom with out it, by some other way. Jesus says no:
“But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment. 12 And he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ - Mt 22: 11
And here:
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber… Then said Jesus…. I am the door". - John 10

You said: If the only possible outcome of exercising free will is catastrophe, what good is it?
Moments before Eve sinned, she decided of her own free will not to believe God. That was within her agency to do so.By contrast, Hundreds of Millions of people believe God, also out of their own free-will; especially after he resurrected himself from the dead, while he was dead. They now have eternal life as an inheritance, simply by believing God.
So, How can you claim that the only outcome of free will is catastrophe ?

They are waiting for the insurance carriers to estimate the damages. Then the watchtower will come to the rescue with free labor and a final invoice for the restoration.
Remember, they bring food at the “proper time.”

TonusOH,
I can’t see a correlation between an inanimate product and beings with agency and free-will.
That’s a faulty comparison.
Are you saying God should have made people without free will?

1. He is the one who condemned us....
In other words, anything that happens is his fault.I'm curious, why don't you apply this reasonig to our judges? If judges would simply stop making judgments, the payment for crimes would stop, right? It's so simple. Not.

TonusOH,
We are under the death penalty because WE sin, not Adam. We simply inherited his nature. How is it a threat to you to offer to die in your place? I don't get the heartburn you're having.
I don't know if you are M or F, or even if that matters because both men and women can sometimes display incredible willingness to trade their life for that of a child in certain extreme circumstances. The concept of trading your life for someone else's makes for some very good literature.... it is a recurring theme. When the Titanic went down, some gave up their seat so another could live.
It is not only a common concept, but universally recognized as the pinnacle of virtue. Why is it bad if God desires to rescue his Children?
@BM
I think eternal non-existence is a far more accurate description than eternal punishment.
I agree that is more comfortable to believe in. But, the reality is that God created man with an eternal spirit, a consciousness. Because we were created to enjoy him forever. We get to choose where we will be conscious forever - in the presence and family of God enjoying all the cool stuff he can make. Or, away from his presence, family and all the cool stuff he made.

That doesn't seem reasonable.
I'll tell you what doesn't seem reasonable. God offers a substitute for the death penalty that we are under and offers to make us part of his family where he is obligated by blood to take care of us and nuture us, & personally see to our happiness forever. But, but many people would rather spend an eternity in hell rather than to receive his offer.
That is what is truly unreasonable.
